For example, one of the best ways to avoid so much anger is to work on problem-solving skills. Teens who are better at solving problems find it much easier to cope with their anger because they can seek solutions other than simple anger at a situation.
It also helps a lot if you can get the teen to just take a step back from the situation for a few minutes. Help them realize the consequences of what possible courses of action will be, including the ones that arise out of their anger. Also show the teen how to take responsibility for his actions. He is less likely to be angry about something if he understands that he can do something about it in a calm, collected way.
The teen will also find it very helpful to learn some stress-relieving exercises. Simply taking a few deep breaths can go a long way toward finding a solution that can help in a calm way without the consequences of actions brought on by anger.
In most cases, teen anger management is simply a case of teaching the teenager to control her emotions. The teen years are some of the most difficult ones of all, and she’ll need a strong adult or two in her life to show her the right way to control those emotions.
